We recently added a vibration plate to our Pilates studio and clients are loving it! Here are my top 8 reasons why you should add a vibration plate practice into your health and wellness routine.
8. Improved circulation
As the vibration moves through your body, you’ll feel your blood pumping. You may even feel itchy in places where the improved circulation has brought more blood into an area. This is no cause for concern. In fact, it just means that your blood is circulating more widely than it was before.
7. Decrease stress
A loose body is not a stressed-out body. Ease away tension in your shoulders, neck, and anywhere else you hold it by letting your body jiggle freely for a few minutes on the vibration plate.
6. Helps you poo
Feeling a bit constipated? We’ve found that standing on the vibration plate for a few minutes can help jiggle things into motion!
5. Reduces anxiety
If you’ve ever felt anxious and like you were operating outside of your body, the vibration plate will help bring you back into yourself. In the same way that dance or singing help you to reconnect with your body, letting everything wiggle and jiggle will help recenter your mind-body connection.
4. Improves balance
I love practicing small balance exercises on the vibration plate because it adds a level of difficulty to the moves and requires more concentration.
3. Muscle recovery
After a hard workout, or if I’m feeling sore the next day, I will sometimes stand on the vibration plate to help sooth and easy my tight muscles.
2. Less joint pain
I have clients who request the vibration plate during each Pilates session because they’ve found that it helps to ease their low back/knee/hip pain.
1. Feels great
The vibration plate is fun, joyful, and makes your body feel great!
